Getting Started with Engine Lighting

This Guide will show you how to export your SoundSwitch Project and Audio files with your Engine Lighting supported Denon Hardware.

Exporting via Sync Manager with Engine DJ:

1. Enable SoundSwitch Export and set the SoundSwitch Project:

You first want to open the Engine DJ Software and navigate to the Engine DJ Preferences.

You then need to make sure you have both enabled the "Export via Sync Manager" option and have also set the correct SoundSwitch Project that you are using in the SoundSwitch Desktop Software.

Note: It is important that you have set the correct path of the SoundSwitch Project you are using with the SoundSwitch desktop Software as if incorrect could result in your exporting the incorrect SoundSwitch Project. Also, be sure you are exporting the SoundSwitch project and not an individual file located in your SoundSwitch Project this can be confirmed via the path should end with ".ssproj"

2. Confirm Scripted Tracks.

If you have completed the steps from Step 1 correctly you can now confirm your Autoscripted Tracks and Custom Scripted Tracks are present in Engine DJ via the checkmark in the SoundSwitch Column in Engine DJ.

If you have Autoscripted or custom-scripted your tracks and the checkmark is not present in the SoundSwitch column check step 1 specifically that you have the correct SoundSwitch Project selected.

Note: If you have not Autoscripted or Custom Scripted your tracks in SoundSwitch as you plan to use the Autoloops for your Audio files the checkmark will not be present in the SoundSwitch Column

3. Export Via Sync Manager.

Now you will export both your SoundSwitch Project and Audio files to your source drive that you will be using with your Engine Lighting Hardware.

This can be a removable USB Drive or the Internal Drive of your Engine Hardware.

1 - Select the Sync Manager option.

2 - Select which Engine Playlists you would like to export to your source Drive.

3 - Select the source drive you would like to export to this being a removable USB/SD Card or the Internal Drive of your Engine Hardware.

4 - Select the Export to Drive option. This will automatically Export the SoundSwitch Project and all associated SoundSwitch Files and will also export your Audio files from the selected playlists.

Depending on the size of your library and the number of Scripted Tracks this can take some time on the very first export to your source drive.

Once the export has been completed you can confirm this by checking the "SoundSwitch" folder on your connected source drive for the SoundSwitch Project.

Exporting via SoundSwitch Desktop:

It is also possible to export your SoundSwitch Projects directly from the SoundSwitch Software.

IMPORTANT: Exporting via SoundSwitch Desktop will ONLY export the associated SoundSwitch Project and its project information it will NOT export your Audio files so you will also need to make sure the Audio files you have Autoscripted or Custom Scripted have also been exported to the source drive you are using with the Engine Hardware. Failing to do this will result in your scripted tracks not playing back and Engine Lighitng defaulting to using the Autoloops.

1. Export SoundSwitch Project:

In the SoundSwitch Desktop Software navigate to the File menu and select the "Export Project" option.

Now you can select which venues you would like to export in the SoundSwitch Projects and you can also select if you would like to include the lighting files.

Lighting files are your Autoscripts and Custom Scripted files so be sure to have this selected otherwise you will only be using the SoundSwitch Autoloops

Select "Export" you can then choose the destination you would like to export the project. This should be the source media drive that you will be connecting to your Engine Hardware.

Now make sure you are exporting this to the "SoundSwitch" folder on the source drive. If this is not present you will need to create a "SoundSwitch" folder on the root of the source drive you will be connecting to your Engine Hardware.

Lastly, you can name the project you would like to Export and select Save.
